Iowa Association of Community Providers (IACP)

The Iowa Association of Community Providers represents over 150 service providers in the state. Horizons Unlimited is an active member of IACP.

Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)

The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, an independent, non-profit organization, recently awarded Horizons Unlimited a three-year accreditation. CARF maintains high standards for human service providers across the nation.

This organization’s mission is to educate people about planned giving to charities through estates, annuities and other vehicles. Their site includes helpful information about planned giving, as well as calculators to help you find the best option for you.

Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals

The DIA licenses the Group Homes and Apartments Horizons owns. DIA also would investigate any complaints or allegations of abuse.

Iowa Department of Human Services

The Department of Human Services rules and monitors Horizons’ compliance with all the federal and state rules for the services we provide at all of our locations. DHS also investigates any complaints or allegations of abuse in services, which are not licensed by the DIA.

Iowa Medicaid Enterprise

Iowa Medicaid Enterprise develops state policy and monitors Horizons’ compliance with all federal and state Medicaid rules and regulations. Iowa Medicaid pays Horizons for all Medicaid services provided and approves all Medicaid cost reports for services provided.

Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services (IVRS)

The IVRS works with individuals who have disabilities to achieve their employment, independence and economic goals. This agency works with Horizons Unlimited to provide services such as facility worksite assessments and work adjustment. These programs help individuals explore their work interests or make the transition to a job.

Seasons Center for Community Mental Health

Seasons is a comprehensive Community Mental Health Center offering a broad range of psychiatric and mental health services to the people and communities in Northwest Iowa since 1959.

Emmetsburg Chamber of Commerce

The Emmetsburg Chamber of Commerce is the primary advocate of the Emmetsburg area business community in recognition of our responsibility to sustain the area as a desirable place to live, work, and play. Horizons Unlimited is a member of the Emmetsburg Chamber of Commerce.

National Council of Nonprofits

The National Council of Nonprofits (Council of Nonprofits) is a trusted resource and advocate for America’s charitable nonprofits. Through our powerful network of State Associations and 25,000-plus members – the nation’s largest network of nonprofits – we serve as a central coordinator and mobilizer to help nonprofits achieve greater collective impact in local communities across the country. We identify emerging trends, share proven practices, and promote solutions that benefit charitable nonprofits and the communities they serve.

ABLE National Resource Center

The ABLE National Resource Center (ANRC) is a collaborative that brings together the investment, support and resources of some of the country’s largest and most influential national disability organizations in an effort to accelerate the design and availability of ABLE accounts to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities and their families. Founded and managed by National Disability Institute (NDI), the ANRC’s goal is to provide consistent, reliable information concerning the benefits of an ABLE account. In addition, the ANRC aims to educate individuals with disabilities and their families, state government and legislatures, financial service companies and financial planners and attorneys – who focus on trust and estate planning – about ABLE’s potential positive impact on the lives of millions of Americans with disabilities.
